My name is Tristan Lev. I grew up in and around the surf industry competing in Professional surf competitions.
My best results as follows:

2013 – South African Championships (4th place)
2014 – South African Champion (1st Place)
2015 – South African Champion (1st Place)
2015 – Boss of Moss (1st Place)
2016 – South African Champion (1st Place)
2017 – South African Champion (1st Place)

I am passionate about sharing my love and knowledge of the ocean with people. I am friendly, kind, genuine and a people’s person. I have been surfing for over 20 years and teaching surfing for over 10 years.

Why Surf Stars

Founded in 2025, I started teaching surfing because I wanted people to experience the great lifestyle that surfing is. That has given me great perspective and a healthy beautiful life that words can’t describe, from the travels to the amazing people I’ve had the opportunity to meet. Now it’s my time to give back to the future and the sport of surfing.

How surf lessons would work

Each 90-minute session includes all the equipment you need and takes you through the basics step by step—starting on the beach and ending with your first waves.

We start on the beach by finding your natural surf stance

Next, we walk you through the parts of your surfboard

We teach you how to carry, paddle and pop up on your board

You’ll learn when to catch a wave and how to ride it in

Finally, we show you the safest ways to fall in the water
